New to Cichlids :)

i would go with firemouths or geos. the peacock you are mentioning is an african cichlid. those are a good choice because most dont get over 6" or so, and they come in a rainbow of colors. your first decision should bi whether you want african or new world and go to the appropriate forum for more specific info.

Im thinking Lake Malawi Cichlids, since I really like the electric blues, johannis, and peacocks, what do you guys/gals think? Also, wondering about tankmates and stocking numbers for these type of cichlids.

Looks like people already said my idea with the firemouth cichlid idea so thats another vote for the firemouth and you could put alone tiger oscar in the tank if you wanted to..but id say firemouth cichlid for there color
