if you looking to go for american cichlids, i owould go for smaller / peaceful specs. like

then there are kribs from africa those are nice to. these lots, apart from maybe the GT are pretty peaceful and ive got all these in a 120 galapart from GT though i have kept them before and never had any trouble off them
Severums are a bit nasty though espec the males as they get bigger.
