Hello everyone! I am new all around. New to this site and new to keeping a stingray. I have not had an aquarium since I was a little kid and then I only had guppy's. LOL. Anyways I recently purchased a 55 gallon octagon acrylic aquarium. I love it. I put in two clown loache's, two silver dollar's, two silver tip catfish, and two angel fish for my sister, plus a baby (I think) tea cup sting ray. He is amazing. I fell in love with him at pet store which is why I bought aquarium so I could get him and now I have him. I've had him since Sunday and he is doing very well. I know that he will need a bigger tank but for now the tank seems plenty big enough. And in a year or so I will get a 75 gallon or bigger for him. Anyways so just wanted to get on here and say hi to everyone and tell a little about myself and aquarium. I am in Beavercreek Oregon. Anyone out there near me? Have a great day everyone hope to talk to some of you soon.

Cheri B.

Hi
Welcome to MFK! You have a beautiful tank there. I think it has plenty of space for your ray. I love stingrays and have some myself. They're addicting and expensive!

Welcome Cheri!
How big is that little guy? Prepare yourself for some optimal water, filtration and weekly water changes.
You will need a much larger tank to keep him happy as he gets bigger. Make sure to read the stickies as they're very helpful to beginners.

Welcome to the site. I don't have any experience with rays, so I won't pretend to...but I know from experience that there are some people on here that are great and willing to help with any questions and others that just don't get out much and are a bit rough around the edges (read unhelpful)...so take the unhelpful/rude comments with a grain of salt. Good luck with your little ray.

Welcome to mfk! After reading some threads and stickies you will know the basics about keeping freshwater sting rays. Hope you enjoy the hobby!
