Well we made sure the floor trusses we running the right way (the opposite way that the tank is going to be sitting) So we were pretty confident nothing was going to happen. But right before we got moved we were draining some water out of the tank and we through the syphon tube out onto the porch and without us knowing it swung back around and landed right on the sliding glass door track. The people below us came knocking about an hour later saything they had a waterfall coming down onto their sliding glass door. haha... luckily for us they were cool and didn't tell the apartments :D

You should have told them it was the "autowash" feature - 5th element humor here

Lol, yeah! They were pretty cool about it though. ANyways, back onto the topic. So if I use fiberglass/resin to coat the whole thing, I will only need to use the sweetwater paint to set the window in. The sweetwater will stick to the fiberglass and the glass right?

You don't need to use a different epoxy to coat over the fibreglass. Just use a quality epoxy resin to start with. The same resin will be used for the fibreglass process and for any top coats required. It can also be pigmented to a required colour. I suggest the use of a quality marine grade epoxy like Bote Cote or West systems. You will get a much longer life span as these types are designed for the harshest conditions and specifically for plywood/timber. You can also just seal the glass straight to it with silicone.
Adding fibreglass will not only add structural strength but also impact strength. Very handy should you drop a rock or such. If you use epoxy only to seal, I suggest at least fibreglassing the floor and seems of the tank. If you fibreglass it inside and outside, you can eliminate the need for any outside support timbers making the overall appearance much cleaner and less bulky. It will also be waterproof outside as well as inside. I hose my tank down while doing water changes. You can see my build through the link in my sig. Fibreglassing is more work but well worth the extra effort. I wish you good luck which ever way you go.

Greenterra: We have been watching your youtube video and that is when we decided to use fiberglass on the whole thing! Thank you! So you didn't use anything special to set the glass viewing window? Just the fiberglass and the higer quality resin? Thank you again for the advice.
