alright guys,

i am after soom advice in setting up my piranha tank perfectly. i had red bellys years ago and have decided to get some more and start a tank again.
just ordered a fluval 190 corner tank (55g). i have upgraded the fluval 205 external filter to the larger 305 after reading a bit into filteration needed to keep piranhas. any other advice as to weather i need a powerheads or any other equipment to keeps this breed happy would be a big help?

also how many babys should i start off with in this tank

With this size tank depending on the size of your babies.. I think u can get upto 10? if there all about 1" 1 1/2 inch.

10 are ok when they are that size but as they get bigger you'll need to down size the shoal or get a bigger tank.

I think 10 would work throughout their lives. Good luck, post some pics as you get your stock.

okay this is gonna have to stop right now, Red Bellied Piranhas need a very minimum of 20 gallons per fish, 10 in a 55 gallon tank would never ever work, they get up to 12 inches, please try to imagine 10 foot long fish in a 55 gallon 4 foot long tank... The maximum taht I would get is 3 or 4, but 10 is completley wrong

pm me if you ahve any other questions I have been keeping Red Bellies for a while and know alot about them
