Haha... Really?

Now that I think about it, most cichla freaks turn to Crenicichla freaks.

Yup. :) Cichla and Crenicichla go superbly together, complimenting each other if you will. :) Pbass are awesome for sure, but my heart belongs to the pikes. I can resist pbass at LFS, but if I see a pike, its game on. LoL

Agreed, bass and pike go hand in hand. A really good challenge to breed both cichlid.

As in cichla, some pikes are hard to get to, and that's the fun part.

Before I completely broke mine of live foods I had a similar problem. I let them eat all the feeders so they would be hungry when it was med time. Then I used allergy syringes (super short needles) to inject a solution of metro clam juice and distilled water into thawed tilapia and shrimp. I made sure not to inject it in too deep so that the medicine pocket would open soon after ingestion but not so shallow that biting it would disperse it into the water. Using long forceps I wiggled the food in front of the fish till they struck it and gobbled it up. Hope this helps.

That sounds great! i will try that as well. What is a good natural way to lower ph? I have driftwood in there and I understand that helps but anything else? Also prior I was a big arowana fan, had jardini's and even an asian. I got into PBass for a while as well, but fell in love with pikes!

I would say the best investment long term when controlling ph would be to get an RO unit. My new tank will have an RO unit attached to my water line with a fill valve in the tank so my water level doesn't drop. Then all I will have to do is open a drain valve for water changes and ph will stay where I want it.
