I have recently inherited 2 120 gal tanks.

Tank# 1 houses a 28"+ silver aro, Senegal Bichir, Goldy pleco
(sand substrate, low lying drift wood at bottom of tank).

Tank # 2 houses ---- Drift wood.

i need suggestions. i want to fill up the tank with a couple of good sized fish, that will rival the impressive Aro. I love the prehistoric theme, Gar, Oscars, Pacu (though i will not purchase due to incredible size).

Can anyone make any suggestions.

Thanks

I would suggest a much larger tank........know it's not what u wanted to here but your tank is to small just for that size tank. Having said that I'd like to c a pic of ur are! Love seeing big aros

well get rid of the aro ( or buy/build a much larger tank/pond ) and do what i did in my 125
2 oscars 1 salvini 1 male con 1 firemouth, the salvini rules over the con and firemouith tho and the firemouth rules over the con but the con stands his ground tho. but ya do one 120 a CA/SA tank and one 120 a african tank.

Does that make sense to anyone?

I understand what everyone is saying about the larger tank. I acknowledge that he is way big in a tank not suited for him. That being said i did inherit it and want to make it right, so stop judging please. I am trying to do the right thing and not overstock tank# 2, lets concentrate on that please.

I am a fan of puffers because of their interactive and intelligent nature...

So, for one 120 g tank I would do a fahaka puffer -please look into this fish, it is amazing..look at vidoes on youtube..they eat live crabs and they recognize owners

And for the other tank I would look into the world of colorful cichlids...there are several absolutely gorgeous ones you could but into a tank that size---just make sure to do your research so that you get the right combination (some of those boogers are really aggressive)
