I have recently inherited 2 120 gal tanks.

Tank# 1 houses a 28"+ silver aro, Senegal Bichir, Goldy pleco
(sand substrate, low lying drift wood at bottom of tank).

Tank # 2 houses ---- Drift wood.

i need suggestions. i want to fill up the tank with a couple of good sized fish, that will rival the impressive Aro. I love the prehistoric theme, Gar, Oscars, Pacu (though i will not purchase due to incredible size).

Can anyone make any suggestions.

Thanks

As for one of your tanks, you can breed Oscars.......Purchase 5 or 6 wild juveniles from http://tangledupincichlids.com or http://aquascapeonline.com...........

Here is your "hand slap.."As adults, the pacu and gar are way to big/long for the 120g footprint.........The arowana, I can make it slide if it is a 6ft long tank........

i think with that 120 you should get some bichirs since you already said you liked the prehistoric theme

Does that make sense to anyone?

Ha ya sorry. Had just gotten done with my microbio hw...I'm pretty sure it had fried my brain. Lol

im thinkin....a single red devil, crazy fun fish, i had a 6 inch red devil kill a 10 inch oscar, very intense, idk, when it comes down to it, u gotta go with what YOU want, your the one who has to look at it everyday

I saw one posting to the thread saying 2 Oscars... Wouldn't that be a little crowded for a 120? Would that create territory issues in the tank? I don't know much about the species' temperament or swim pattrens... Think that they are a great looking fish too. But I don't want a one tank wonder.

why not Oscars... Don't get me wrong the Bichirs are cool as crap and i could be happy with a tank of them but i am interested in the opinion that drives the motivated comment.
