Picked this guy up a month or two ago at about 6". Is this a sunset oscar? Sorry they are crappy cell phone pics. Also not sure why this app always turns my pics sideways..

Thanks guys. Are red albinos fairly common? I've never seen one until I saw this one. Although I haven't really ever paid much attention to oscars in the past. I'm already enjoying it. I was quite surprised when he tried picking a fight with my 13" NTT dat lol. Also I've had to quit holding the red Hikari cichlid gold bag over the tank when I feed him. When he sees the bag he tries jumping out of the water at it!

Most varieties of Oscar are common and easy to find, but that makes them no less interesting as wet-pets! Regardless of coloration, an Oscar is one of the most reactive and adorable aquarium fish around. You are in for a great time! Feed a variety of live foods, it's said to help prevent HITH. And ground your tank, that's a big one, too!

Thanks for the tips. And I already agree about them making great wet pets. I've always been more for the 'less common' type fish and have always disregarded Oscars. I saw this one and just had to go for it! Already glad I did!
