I'm thinking mono too but clearer shots once settled will help with the I.d.
Keep the temp at 87 degrees and the oxygen high.
Monos, ocells & orinos usually max at 24inches.
Do a little search at some of the older threads to up your knowledge on cichla and you'll be fine. There's a whole thread as well with everyone setups on it. Enjoy your new pbass :D

really 87 degrees??

And i will take a better pic tomorrow

i havent seen him eat but the tank hes in has a school of 3 quarter inch danios that happened to be in the tank already so i know he has lol, the school keeps getting smaller :D

Don't know what kind of advice your looking for but this is what I've gotten through the years:
Keep temp high increases metabolism and fish require higher heat.
The darker the substrate more likely to get more color out of your fishm
Good filtration, very messy fish with fecal matter.
Get off live foods as early as possible, prepared foods are healthier and again another way to bring out vibrant colors.
Feed often when small
MOST IMPORTANTLY enjoy your fish...

when i turned on the light today first thing he did was BAM 3 danios gone lmao, my cameras charging ill get a pic soon

3 danios, nice! looks like hes settling in nicely!

i had a school of 12 in there now there all gone, in 24 hrs lol, im treating some feeders for him though, it sucks cause i have no idea what they were feeding it, so im just gonna keep it on feeders for a bit then try to get it on pellets
