hey i was thinking about getting a couple of peacock bass for my 125 gallon tank. im just looking for some tips/advise on care, food, water temp, etc... i already know about tank mates the few fish in the 125 will be fine with the peacocks.
any advise will be appreciated
thanks!

18" width isnt big enough for a pbass

As far as tips an advise, we will need bit more info before we start. How big are the pbass an how many/what kind of tank mates are in the 125 already? Pbass love to eat an grow so if you feed heavy that 125 may only last a couple months, is the 125 a standard 5''*18"*24 or is it a 4*2*2? Width is best for them also. tank parameters must always be keep in check. hopefully some of this helps you out

my 125 is 6'x18"x23" tank mates jack dempsey, Jaguar, synspilum, tiger botia. i was going to start with some small peacocks like 2" im just wondering what they like what they don't like. i have plenty of tanks that i can move fish around if they don't get along with the fish that are already in the 125. i just have never owned a PB

Oh ok that's a good mix for the time but not sure if the jag an jds will mess with them, as for feeding an other stuff at 2" you will want to get them off live food an start with really small pieces of shrimp or cubes of bloodworm(each has a pref) I like bloodworm myself with the bw I start to mix in crushed pellets about two weeks after they associate me with food it takes about two weeks or more to get on full pellets (depending on fish) keep the temps in the tank around 84-86° and 50% weekly wc or 30% every three days this will keep them healthy an grow better
