New to pea puffers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I ended up with 2 one male and one female,
I plan on adding more plants, I need to trim down my 10 gallon and add the trims to there tank rather than feed them to my cray.
If i had planned on getting them i would of had a tank already up and going but they were a surprise pick up that i could not pass up ^_^.
more plants to come....and soon a i get to my LFS ill pick up some as well.

also adding a log and two med anubia today!

Not good. Males will fight to the death. Can you trade one of those males back for a female?

hmm not to be rude but maybe read posts before responding.

the first post on the thread explains how i got them..a friend gave them to me when i was buying a tank from them so cant trade them in. but that is no worry they are male and female

If you read the post, the op stated at least twice that they got 2 of these. 1 male 1 female.
That being said I love those lil guys, well guy and gal. Very cute, and i've heard they are a blast to watch.

Thank you ^_^

and yes!!! they are a blast to watch amusing little guys i love watching them hunt snails or explore something new i put in the tank.

i made a snail breeder in there tank out of an old plastic breeder box took out a few bars on the side of it and have the adult snails (ramshorns) in it.and whey they lay eggs the tiny snails can get out and be snacks!....so i dont end up with tons of chomped on big snails!.

whoa cute tiny little fellows

they are...cant wait to get a better camera to take close up faces...adorable little guys.

they also seem to be getting along with the lone male Golden Lyretail Panchax Killifish that i put in to see how they would do..i have a few extras sens my adults are breeding like bunnies!.

more plants have been added^_^

Oops, sorry--I thought you said you ended up with 2 males & 1 female. My bad! :)

Its all good^_^..

do they do best with one male and one female? or do i want more girls..or will they be fine?

they seem fine so far they stick together allot.

The more girls the better, mainly because with a 1/1 ratio, the male (when he decides to mate) may stress the female out too much from chasing her around, so having a 2nd Female will help spread the aggression if you will...

ok so i added some plants! ^_^ lots of plants and some grow out killifish no one is paying attention to any one..the puffers seem like happy little clams now^_^

what you guys think?

and ill keep an eye out for another female!
