no, he can't put it in with his oscar and his dempsey when it gets bigger... that would be a disaster

i was just thinking the same thing..
i have him in a 20g now, seems he likes gravel bottom instead of just glass. and the fish in the 10g now seem to like the glass instead of the gravel. :D

sometimes they just appreciate a change of scenery, ha

dude start yer young rbp on pellets asap itll grow em fast he will eat em just starve em all day and dont overfeed .When he gets bigger use shrimp or prawn chunks of fish for snacks but pellets should be there daily feed.
Omega one pellets are the kind i use they also have veggie one also i feed em both kinds .

My dad wants to feed it feeders (his fish). I might get it eating pellets just so I'll always have something to feed

I have red bellies and they eat feeders sometimes but there staple is raw market shrimp as it is high in nutritional value. Good Luck with theese great fish. I would also reccomend you get 2 or 3 more because they do not like being alone and you are gonna need to get a bigger tank anyway. A good setup would be 4 or 5 in a 55 gallon tank.
