new to plants still need some help

okay so as some of u know i have a 25g tank i have some more questions

Question 1>What is the appropriate wattage for this tank? Right now i have 15 WATTS WHICH i know isnt right just wondering ur guys opinion

Question 2>can you have a plated tank with the carbon in the filter(aka black stuff)? This stuff takes out medicens so does that mean it gets ride of plant fertilizer?

Question one has to do with the kind of plants you have and are going to get.

Question two I THINK you can have carbon in your tank.

carbon is fine. many swords get too big. check out the power compact bulbs from places like walmart.

25 arepretty tall and by the time the light reaches thebottom the composition has changed a little i would recomend 3 wpg for a 25
and yes carbon is fine, what ferts are you running? any CO2?

depends on what plants they are using...... plus i dont think 25 is that tall.....

25 isn't that tall, carbon is fine, and watts will depend on plants, I would run ~3wpg of cf lighting over the tank.

it's pretty tall when you consider buying a canopy and using the bulbs it comes with. if you go PC then, no, it's not than tall.
