NEW TO PLECOS -- MY SET-UP & SOME STOCK

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks like you put some thought into this...lol. One suggestion, If you can conceal the pump sitting on the bottom and the hose going up it would improve the appearance. Maybe hide the pump further back under the wood and have a longer nozzle extending out and the hose come up from the back of the tank. It just looks out of place. But overall Great job!!!!

Thanx alot brother! Means lots coming from u. Heard ur stock is 1st rate. Hope to see your collection one day. Thank you for the suggestion..... It's a good one!!

where did you get your plecos from? thx

Literally.... all over..... Friends, MFK, LFS (very few), and online.

Notable shout outs to Chelo, Mr. Pokemon ASH, Mark from Discus Origins, Thomas, Mr. Toofay, Vic, Julian, Anthony, and many more..... thank you for helping me start my pleco collection.... and thanx for the patience.... I'm just a noob wanting to learn..... I'll get there eventually.... we all start somewhere.

I love plecos and was considering a tank with a nice piece of drift wood and bare bones so I can view all the plecos, but will all those different species fight each other and be territorial? Thats the only thing that has stopped me. I dont want to drop some cash on my favorite ones. (golden nugget etc) and then they attack each other or gang up on the smaller ones so they dont eat.

I hear ya. I learned the hard way.... adding tooo many plecos in at the same time and not caring for size or type. From my limited experience i would add plecos of around the same size, have enough hiding places for all plecos, and do your research. Example, panaques should have driftwood in their diets, carnivores high protein diet, omnivores, and biofilm grazers.... all of these tend to have specific dietary needs. I have all types mixed in now but give a very varied diet to try and accomodate all plecos. If you are going to mix in plecos, you may want to stay away from pseudos/vampires. One of my medium sized pseudos killed and injured several of my small and large plecos. They got teeth once large and can cause major damage to other lesser "equipped" plecos. All others will squabble but no major injuries...... especially during feeding time! Hope this helps somewhat.

Knowing me I will be adding more! So far, I have only taken pics as they come out during the day....... when I feed lots more plecos come out...... couple king galaxies L282, mango, spiny monster, Galaxy L007, sultan, buch of green and blue phantoms, rhino, flash pleco, 3-beacon, bushy nose, leopard frogs, and several others.....
You have the Rhino already?...Any pics of him?
