It's not staying bare. Maybe I should of restate the question.

He is in a bare 29g. I have a 75g that has a pbass in it. The tank is bare. I was wondering how fellow MFKer's have their puffer tanks set up so I can get some ideas.
Can someone recommend a good substrate?

Right now I am thinking white sand.

Keep in mind, if you are planning on sand that is deeper than 1", you'll have to stir all of it weekly.

Yeah I learned that real quick. I told the GF no tankmates but she had to have one. So we seen some bala sharks and bought 2. The puffer grabbed ahold of the tail of one and cornered them. I grabbed them out and went to take them to my LFS but they were closed so I fed them to my bass.:D.

Tank looks sweet man. He looks good like that. I am thinking white sand. I clean the tank like crazy anyway so I thought an always clean white sand tank would look awesome. Thinking of adding driftwood too.

Edit...
Sorry meant to add that I hear driftwwod might be bad also?

So yeah.....the Bala Sharks were a bad idea.....pretty girl sure liked them though! lol

I am really surprised he hasn't grabbed that little guppy that is in there!

As far as the sand.....what if we took white and marbled some black or another color into it?

Yeah we also have a tag-a-long guppy that came with the fahaka.

And also he was only $7... Well the total was $15 for him and a $8 bottle of freeze dried plankton.
