just picked up a baby RTC at about 3 inches.

any advice and tips?

food?
tankmates?
temp?

any helpful advice would be cool.

Get Biiiiiiiiiiiiig tank. Budget as much food for him as you do for yourself, make sure your filtration is up to snuff. There are a lot of RTC threads. Look around and you'll learn everything you need to know.

Hope your ready :)

food: He should eat anything. Shrimp, scallops, worms, etc....
tankmates: TSN, Marbled Pim, other larger catfish, pacus, oscars, etc

If you are feeding and maintaining the water properly you can expect a couple inches a month in growth. Scallopes ,shrimp, bloodworms ,pellets, fish fillets all are considered food. As for temps 69 to 78 degrees F.
What do you have for a tank now?
Most keepers have or are planning a pond of some sort , indoor/outdoor, for life time living quarters for a rtc.

This just about covers it,but as long as you can keep having a big enough tank for it make sure any tankmates you may keep are big enough not to be eaten.:headbang2
