you could get a crenicichla sveni (pike) and it could live in the tank for life as long as you keep up on your water parameters.
thats the fish in my pic. he choked on two rosies tho

The LFS near me has a pike labled "Pike Cichlid" and I believe it was greenish with a tint of pink on the top, I think, but that was a week ago and I didn't look too closely. Anyways, went to a different place today and they told me 5" to 6" fish in a 55g was pushing it. So much varying information. I was considering a few firemouths, I think they would be okay in there...
