let me ask yall another question....

how should the powerhead in the tank be aimed? i have it pretty much pointing straight up, any other way I aim it seems to blow the sand around too much...

If you dont have corals it doesnt really matter where the powerhead is pointed. All it does is circulate the water, so if thats the only way it doesnt kick up sand then leave it like that. If you start to do corals then it would start to matter where its aimed.
