New to Saltwater

Why would I have to cycle a tank that has been up and running for a year that already had livestock, some coral frags and mushroom frags?

When I moved it from the person I bought it from he had done a WC a few days prior so I kept every bit of water he had in the tank.

And I know this about crushed coral, thus why I'm changing to sand. The tank came with crushed coral.

If your switching from fresh to salt, you still need to cycle it. I would cycle about a month before adding live stock. You can still fix it though since you have live stock in it already. Keep a really close eye on your watch quality and make water changes if the numbers are getting to high and you should be fine. I wouldn't take out the crush coral until you are very sure you water quality is stable.

but nice pictures by the way. Looks like its going to be a pretty sweet tank when your done.

you dont need to re cycle the tank, it was just a move, not a fresh setup

Thank you

I don't think people read the first post where I mentioned I bought a saltwater setup that has been up and running for awhile and I just moved it from the sellers house to mine.

awesome man, im turning my 120g freshwater in SW, its going to be a challenge XD

and no people dont seem to like to read on here

sorry I am guilty of not reading the first post...if it is salt to salt you don't need to re cycle it.
