i'm not saying the kids will play with it all the time or even alot. i will allway be there with the 6 year old. we have a hedghog he loves to play with. spends hours with it. as for the cage.. can i use a small cat or dog kenal(haven messured the with of the wire.) i mean just gor the wire not for the full cage

i wouldnt use that cage. they need height to play, and lots of toys, and a large wheel to play on. like i said if you go to glidercentral they have EVERYTHING you need to know and more. and the bars on the dog kennel are no good for gliders.

I would definately go with a bigger cage unless you plan on taking them out a lot. They need to have space to glide around and groups are always better. Oh quick tip for you if your glider doesnt want to eat or isnt warming up to you as much as you would like try cheerios and/or baby food as a treat they go nuts for that stuff! Good luck and I am so jealous!! I want one but my fiance wont let me get one.
 
first of all, a taller cage is much more important that wide. even though it does need to be wide so they have room to jump around and play and possibly glide.

i adopted my little boys for $150 a piece. i think 250 isnt bad if they are coming from a loving breeder that makes sure they are healthy and social before selling them.

also, realize that these are tiny delicate creatures and they are not like puppies that let you pet and play with them right away. they need time to get used to their environment and bond with you before you even consider picking them up or trying to play. their bite hurts! get a childs play tent so they can run around and get used to being around you. and also a bonding pouch to get used to your scent and used to trusting you. once you get them to trust you they are amazing pets.

also, get used to feeding them bugs, and preparing fresh fruit and veggies every single day. they can be a lot of work and people dont realize this until after they get them. i am only saying this because many people hate them and then go to resell them just because they are not trusting on the first meet and they require work. i just dont want to see more sugar gliders left unwanted because people do not know what it takes to care for them.
 
also the spacing of the cage should not be more than 1/2" because they can squeeze through pretty much anything

UNTIE YOUR PANTYS AND CRY ME A RIVER....

a cage made from aluminum frame and vinyl coated chicken wire is perfect.... and since you know what the site says your obviously a expert and dont need anybodys help...
