alright. stand back! i'm in the house. :D just kidding, my ego took over.

are you talking about the powder blue g's and the reds or like giants or snakeskins? (basically the big ones or the real little one?) or the kissing ones?
planted?
i'd do:
1 snakeskin g
1 whiptail cat
5-6 panda corys or the same # of dwarf chain loaches
4-5 flying foxes
4-5- gold barbs
like 20 neons or cardinals
3-4 hachet fish
5-6 zebra danios
4-5 glass catfish.
planted lot's of sword plants and drift wood and small forground plants. in black sand.

but that's just me

The fish that I am really interested in are these
Dwarf Gourami
Opaline Gourami
Giant Gourami
Blue Paradise
Topsail Platy
Medusa Head Pelco
Redtail Shark
Clown Loach

It's just figuring out which ones are compatiable but I will probably just put some Mollies in the tank and maybe some platys just to start it.

Welcome to MFK Mocha Jive:D :D

To get started do some community fish and go from there.

Lots of platys, swordtails, mollies, gouramis, redtail sharks, bala sharks and then add some bottom feeders. Stock the tank with some clown loaches,a bushy nose pleco:headbang2.:headbang2

Add some driftwood, some tall plants, and some nice rocks and you will be all set to go.:nilly: :nilly:

Again welcome to MFK heres to a future monster fish raiser

welcome to mfk!!

the list that you posted above sounds perfect, as red tail sharks are only aggresive to other sharks that look like them. good luck with the new tank and welcome to the addiction:headbang2

welcome to MFK.. you can do a nice community tank with angels and clown loaches.. and a few tetra's and maybe a few cory cats.. i have all my monsters down stairs in fish rooms but i have the relaxing angel tank in the living room..:)

i did the same thing. i have my monster tanks. then i have my angel and gourami tank in the bedroom to help me unwind at night. angels, gourami, and discus would be fine. you would just have to keep the water real clean. which should be the main objective anyways.
good luck and welcome to MFK.

The mollies will over run the tank!! I had 2 pairs of mollies to start with in my 55 planted tank and wound up with over a hundred in about a years time!! Each female will spit out between 5 &10 fry every few weeks!!

Thank you Mr Pleco for the warm welcome :) Well about those Mollies just1time it might be interesting to see some Fry but now you have me worried because really the only reason I am getting Mollies at first is to help cycle my tank. I may just stick to Gourami's lol. Has anyone tried the Purity from Seachem in there tank instead of getting the Bio stuff from the fish store just curious if it will work to help cycle my tank instead of buying the $30 one. What does everyone think about asking the pet store for some of there tank water and putting it in my filter to help cycle the tank? Just curious to other people's thoughts. Thank you all for any help and suggestions.

If you know someone with an established tank ask them for some filter media...Tank water in the filter won't do much if anything. Anytime I set up a new tank I use some media from the established tanks.
