Well my breeding group of 7 Red Head Tapajos (largest male and largest female) just laid eggs in a flower pot.....
Lets see what happens ......

Wow, your moving along quite fast... good job! Where are you located? If you get fry from the Winemilleri I'd be more than willing to buy some from you.

The Winemilleri already laid eggs and I saw babies .... but I did not take the female out of the tank ...... So I don't know what's up with the babies ... maybe eaten ???

70 miles north of the Bronx .....

They are delayed mouth brooders, so one of the parents may be holding them. How long ago did you see the babies? What else is in the tank with them?

240 gallon (8 footer) contains .... (6) 3 inch Geo Abalios , (1 pair) 3.5 inch Altfrons, (1 pair) 4 inch Red Head Severums, (1 pair) 4 inch Geo Balanzi , 2 pair WineMilleri ...
They were both guarding the eggs that were laid on top of a big cave. I will have to watch and see if two
of them are still hanging out together ? Then maybe try and catch both of them ?
I saw the babies 3 days ago..... in the mouth not released, I had a little flash lite ....

Like I said I am new to this, Petrochromis I would strip the female of her eggs after 14 days of holding.....
Here I guess is live and learn.... :headbang2

Well today I noticed that the smallest female of my Red Hump Steindachneri trio is holding ?
Big bulge in the Buccal (mouth/throat) area. These big tanks are too much to go fishing for these small fish
unlike Petrochromis an easy catch.
