they have been in the tank for about 5 days now they have been doing really good together and i have even some of the signs that they were a pair. its just unusual that they have stayed in the cave all day except for feeding time.
wanted to give a quick update on my pair. They are getting much more aggressive. they are still small but the male will now sometimes chase my finger along the tank.. not banging yet but no where near as timid as he was. my female is getting FAT.. i mean she has twice the girth as when i bought her. you can see her tube very well. Im hoping to have some eggs soon.
Sounds like there trying to lay their fry or already have somewhere in the tank, good luck with everything! Its amazing when 2 fish come together and watch all of the outcomes 
I dont believe she has any eggs anywhere yet... she isnt standing guard. but im hoping for it soon.
