ive been fairly lucky for the past 6 months as far as chemical levels in my tank but just recently i just covered some old gravel with a natural color gravel (so it looks more "native") and my ammonia level sky rockets to about 2 ppm any ideas? im unsure of what adding gravel would do to raise the ammonia but as i said ive only been at this for roughly six months. any ideas or thoughts greatly appreciated. thanks again.

Ammonia is caused primarily by fish waste and leftover food, I would vacuum your gravel and then do a 30% water change and see if that helps.
