new to tropical fish keeping any tips please?

The flat white one looks like a kissing gourami. They can grow to 10-12 inches and can get territorial when they get older. My nan used to have a marbled 10 inch one. He hated other fish but was very tame with people and would let her stroke him. He was a real character.
