You might want to think about synspila instead.
In my experince they are pretty mellow and you can add some small
cichlids like cryptoheros

The only problem is I already have the blackbelt...I thought I could get away with adding a small one to my 180 (6x2 foot) but the motaguensis I have in there would chase it constantly. So now the blackbelt has it's own 120g (4x2) and my vampire place as a tank mate since my motaguesis decided to shred my vampire's fins up....mean little sob.
