I saw a bike like yours at bike night this evening. The nose isn't nearly as large as it appears in the pictures. Overall I really liked it.

Yeah it's really not that big. Overall, I'm really satisfied with this bike. I was debating this or an R1 and I'm pretty sure I made the right choice (couldn't afford a KTM RC8).
 
I was very tempted to trade my bike in on a 2009 R1, I love that bike. However mine is paid for and full coverage is only $430 a year. For the R1 insurance would be over a grand a year plus I would have a payment.

I almost purchased a Ducati 1098 last year, then I had an opportunity to set on one. That was the most uncomfortable bike I have ever ridden. I talked to the owner of one about it for a while and he even recomended that I didn't purchase one because of how uncomfortable it was.
 
I traded in my 2004 R1 for the vmax. I never thought of it as uncomfortable at the time but the difference is night and day between the 2 bikes. I think you made the right decision to keep the 14 if you like to ride a lot.
