Great Pictures guys. I still don't have any substrate yet though. I've seen some guys use sand for substrate with their trimacs. Should I? I was at home depot yesterday looking at some prices. I want to go with the medium sized river rocks that are about 1.5" - 2" in diameter. But I'm also interested in trying to house a peacock eel with him that could bury in sand if endangered. There are also some pea sized round gravel that I wonder if a peacock eel could burrow in there. I also always heard that sand is hard to clean and can damage filters. Any feed back?

don't keep your filter intakes too close to the bottom, and PFS sand should be okay to use.not hard to clean, just hover about the surface, and the crud will still get sucked up.not sure if the eel would be accepted...trimac could just dig them up if they want

what is PFS sand? Yeah i was thinking about trying it thought and putting in one of those false reptile rocks under the sand or something similiar to have a safe place for the eel to sleep.

PFS is short for pool filter sand, its cheap, slightly bigger grain size,so less likely to fly around when fish dig
