I know I know lol. Diet for color, behavior. It's by itself right now on one half of my 75. The other side has a male and two female Red Devils. Hopefully this trimac is a male so I can breed it with one of my RD females.

These get large, and can be very aggressive in all but the largest tanks.
They will start breeding at fairly small size, my male 5" female slightly smaller when they first spawned.

mine spawned in a large PVC cave

Any high quality cichlid pellet will be good for color and behavior. All that in a 75 is a lot if your keeping them there long term. A male trimac could hit 15" with a decent amount of bulk.

I'm not positive about this, but I think that female Trimac's have black in a few rays of the dorsal fin. Males do not have any black in their dorsal fin. So, from your pic, I'd say your Trimac is a female? The black in the dorsal fin works is the way to sex Carpintis, too.

The one in your pic looks to be a female to me, the dark area in the dorsal usually indicates female, especially if it is a pure trimac.
note the blotch in the dorsal of this female on the right

and in the pic below
