just a thought has any one ever tried to feed there tigers herring I wonder if salt water fish will have ill effect on catfish from fresh water!!! What do you guys think!:)

Sweet, he won't stay small for long. I have one about the same size and I left for 4 days, I swear he was noticeably bigger when I came back. And all the rosy's were gone too.

As far as saltwater fish for food i feed cod all the time to my rtc and my rtc/tsn at least once a week and always have.I get a lot of seafood for free at my wifes seafood place

I have 3 tsn. They have never eaten live food besides night crawlers. I always start them out on a mixture of blood worms and crushed krill. It's like fish steroids for baby catfish. Once they are a little larger than 4-5" I start feeding them whole krill, and when at 8-10" start feeding them shrimp and cut fish fillet exclusively. I have one 20" tsn, and one 18" tsn living with my 17" RTC, and my 20" channel. The channel was smaller and has now outgrown all my other cats. My tsn actually grow faster than my RTC. They all live with two oscars 12" and 14", and a jag 15". Hopefully whithin a year they can all go in with my 3" tsn x rtc hybrid. All my fish combined eat about 4 lbs of shrimp, and 2 lbs of fish fillet every week.

thanks Necrocanis:D I like to learn what else i can feed my cats!!:D

There's many things to feed them. I've been warned to stay away from red fatty meats though. Too high in fat, and some other bad stuff. Chicken breasts can be fed every now and then, but not too much or too often as my catfish get sick if fed too much chicken. I've heard of people cooking meat that they feed to their catfish first for easier digestion. Never tried cooking for catfish thou lol.

he doesnt do much ... pretty much sits on one side of the tank or the other. is this because hes new, or are they pretty boring fish?
