So last night I was moving some fish around and put my female convict cichlid (just over 2.5 inches) in with my 2 inch green terror, 2 inch red zebra mbuna, and 3.5 inch warmouth. I came down this morning and she beat up the green terror (but I think he'll make it), pretty much killed the warmouth, and the red zebra was hiding inside a cave the convict didn't fit inside. So I decided that was the final straw. She's killed 8 inch severums before as well. So she went in the 55 gallon with my male RES (about 6 inch shell length). She is very wary of the turtle, but the turtle is more interested in piece of zuchinni in there than anything else. So it looks good. I did put a little cave for the convict to hide in though, in case the turtle gets overly greedy.
