So heres what Ive gone through. For the past month Ive had problems with water with a green tint to it and algae growth on the glass. Ive tried numerous chemical treatments with no success. I got to say that I really didnt like the idea of adding chemicals but its been driving me crazy.
So today I went out and bought the Green Killing Machine 24W model. Its only been running for an hour now but from all the reviews Ive read on here and other places it seems to do work and for the price, I couldnt help but try it.
Ill write a review later....
Wish me luck

subscribed! im interested to hear the results as i have been pondering the purchase of one for my 125 and for future monster tank, how do you have it plumbed in?

I had a 9 watt version on my 55 with green water it cleared it up in 3 days and it got better and better from there to crystal clear with all the maintenance I had to perform before I continued with so the tank ended up being spotless I highly recommend the green machine.Mines really old and works like day 1 best bang for your buck for sure! The water was rather soupy too. This was a while ago but It still runs like a champ on my 40 gallon quarantine tank.

What size tank are you running this on btw?

Also I have an 18 watt coral life twist and a 24 watt UVC

The best of all money aside is the coral life twist.

I have the 24w Green Machine. It works well, however, if you have green tinted water, your parameters are off and the issue won't be truly "fixed" until you remove the additional nutrients (most likely nitrate or carbon).

I have a UV sterilizer that is laying in my attic. I didn't think it would do much for a freshwater tank so I never hooked it up. Maybe I will give it a shot. Can't hurt right.

You would be stocked at the difference of running one in fw. If you dont see a difference in a week, you might need to change your bulb.

:iagree:
My tank had a slight whiteish haze to it. A buddy of mine who got out of the hobby due to a motorcycle accident gave me his 25w. I hooked it up to me 55gl fw( which is overkill ) and my tank is now crystal clear. It would def be of better use on your tank than in your attic.
