A buddy of mine who got out of the hobby due to a motorcycle accident gave me his 25w.
John, it's sad to hear that your friend gave up his hobby.. Is he physically paralyzed? I myself is handicap & don't see any reason for it to stop me from fish keeping..

P.S: Sry for going off-topic..

I will bust it outta the attic this weekend. I think I might have to replace the bulb though. I bought a bunch of stuff from a guy once and that was in the box. He said it works fine just needs a bulb.

Sorry for going off topic ass well!!!
As I understand it he was riding a friends bike ( not my friend ) that was somehow setup different I dont know. He and his wife were riding it and they were going around a bend and he lost control. They went through a barn wall, through a stall wall which through his wife off. She broke her leg that was a compound fracture and hit her head. She almost bled out. Now Ted my friend, was still on the bike when it hit something that stopped the bike and he flew through the air hitting face first on a combine. He had MAJOR head trama and broken bones. Its been over two years since the accident, Ted is now blind, very slow and slurred speach( I can barely understand him ), lots of memory loss, metal plate in his head and numorous pins and 1 other plate. IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE MY GOOD FRIEND END UP THIS WAY :cry::cry::cry:. IT IS A MIRACLE BOTH OF THEM ARE STILL WITH US !!!!!!!!!

Well its been up and running now for just under 24hrs and I can already see the water starting to clear. Im running it on a 75 gal tank.
The only draw back Ive found so far is that the power cord isnt really long enough and the suction cups for the power supply dont really support the weight. But that is a minor price to pay for having the water cleared. Ill keep a journal on here as time goes on to report any improvements.

My water cleared up but I never had green water or any kind of water issues I hooked all mine up on overkill wattage with a slow flow to kill all parasites etc. But it could be placebo it made my water just a little clearer although it always looks polished because I overfilter... alot :)
