Yeah they are difficult to keep, mainly b/c they wont eat. But I did see this guy take food at the LFS, thats the only reason I actually took him home. And plus he's on the bigger side of any of the one's I've seen. They max out at 5" I think so at 3.5" he should be fairly stable.
Thanks guys I really like his markings.. I know I may have seemed to gone to the dark side, but I still have my 220 Fresh tank, getting thin on Dats, but got two GREAT Fire Eels, and since adding a second one the littler one now come out and swims around and feeds from the top of the water!
Yeah they may be small, but I guarantee that this guy's sting hurt more than ANY other fish bite from large fish. This is one guy that I need to watch. I now have to wear thick plastic gloves when in the tank cleaning.
