Haven't posted anything on these guys for a while. Below is a feeding video from this morning, chopped prawns and meal worms today. I mix it up a bit from time to time. They also love my fishing maggots and go mad for the occasional locust or cricket. Funnily enough they won't touch worms anymore from my wormery, and perch are well known for being real suckers for worms! I can't get my head around that one!
I still have the original 10 which I put in at the beginning of June so I've had them 6 months now. They've put on some real size too in comparison to the skinny little malnourished things I caught back in June. There is one notable "big one" which stands out. That guy is currently about 10". The rest are around the 6-7" mark.
Knowing that perch love colder water I had concerns over the temps I could offer them in an indoor tank, especially during the summer months. It turns out I needn't have worried. The temps hover between 19-21°C and, even though this is quite high for perch, they haven't shown any signs of discomfort at all.
All in all very happy with the way things are going!
