hey guys. I just got new fish and I wanted to know exactly what type it is. I figured it is some type of vieja but nothing beyond that. Thanks for the help and sorry for the bad quality pics. They were off a cell phone camera.Btw, can anyone figure out its sex?

I would say fenestratus due to the black below the dorsal. But I'm sure some or many will disagree

looks like a synspilum hybrid to me= synspilium x fennestratus is a possibility

Either way its going to be colourful, aggressive and big.

not a synspilum! i had many of them it aint one. i also had Guttatlatus, Fenestratus, Hartweegi and Maculicauda, so i have qa lil bit of experince with Vieja. i personally put my money on Fenestratus. i think this because of the purlpeish head, body shape, head shape and the black on the sides.

will be an aggressive fish, get about 12inch, but very colourful. nice one mate, keep up the good stuff.
