Was told that they do well with rays as long as they are kept fed. Where mine is going once he is larger....

I won't vouch for them but just state that my 6-pack lives with lots of tankmates they could easily take down. They are 12"-16".
Do they like to shoal as a group or do they go about their own business as individuals? Nice video.........

50-50. Usually they are together, at least a few of them. When resting head-on in current, they are mostly together.
They definitely show a bond towards each other. Never witness them quarrel with each other, which is not to say it doesn't happen but at least would speak to the rarity of it, if it does happen.
