Not been to wet pets.....I will find out. which store did you like best? The Red Hooks are actually a good deal. I bought one. Real nice looking female. They are very scarce the past year. My 7" would sell for 50-80 bucks! I have seen them samller from Jeff Rapps for 28.50. I paid 40 for my thin bar!

I know the thin bars are costly - but those little things are $20, Just a little much for me to get my head around, when you used to find them at box stores for $6 each. I figure if I wait a bit, I'll find some.
I liked them all, for different reasons - but Emmons was actually my least-favorite, because of how they have the store set up - very cluttered, and shelves in front of aquariums, so I could not even see in some of the tanks - but, they did have some fish I had not seen in years - most of my purchases were made there. The owners were top notch. The "guys" working there - not friendly at all. Prices were high. Everything is kept in tiny tanks.
Then, Puppy Place - great selection, dirty, but prices were reasonable. Great people. Great selection of oddballs - my oddballs came from there.
Then, Aquatic Wildlife - the girl was great, the guys - not friendly at all - notice a trend here? COOL monster tank with monster fish - beautiful aquarium displays but the fish get lost in all the plants, but only walked away with one Leoprinus arcus. If you want to see a MONSTER lungfish, go here!

In conclusion - my favorite would be the Puppy Place.

Still looking for my want list, and still want to hear about more New England stores to visit!

Checked out Wet Pets in Vernon Rockwell today for the first time! Positives: Big store with big tanks for the fish. very clean tanks. Healthy fish. decent selection of tanks, equiptment, folks seem nice enough. Better or equal saltwater selections

Negatives: very few fish per tank means small selection despite big store, Very few exotics, a few questionable tanks including goldfish in 5 gallon tnks with no filtration and a 4.5' nurse shark in a 225 gallon tank.

Must say though.....the shark was immaculate and gorgeous!! And curious and friendly!! very cool. One of the largest sharks I have seen in a LFS. I also stopped by Aquatic wildlife and Puppy Center. Only Puppy Center accepts my CT fish Store membership for discount....15%!! Bought my massivore there! Also a 1.5" Flagtail for 12 bucks.....Aquatic Wildlife did have At dats for 10 bucks....smallest I have ever seen. Bright and nice looking but only 2 CM long!!

The Dats must be new - didn't see those - I saw the Flagtails, but they looked SUPER THIN, so I passed - feed him WELL! Great price on them though! Did you see the crazy Port Cichlid tank? Keep me posted on any new additions!

I put the flagtail into my planted growout with my newish red hook....It was at Puppy center a few months so I am sure the maitainance diet did not help....Plan on it growing fast to join my 150! I took the larger one of the two.....the other was very thin. Missed the Port Cichlid....which store? I do not collect cichlids so I dont always look.....Puppy center usually has nice larger polypterus species but are thin right now!
