Ahh... yes I dont take many , it's 3' wide back walls and dimly lit so the bichirs disappear when u zoom out lol, Here are a couple i took when i added the new CK's (Oh did i mention that since listing the stock earlier in this thread I've added 2 CK's lol, finally another fish big enough/resilient enough to live with my hateful RTG (so far any way *knock on wood)
I'll clean the glass and try to get some better FTS's this weekend.
Thanks, no not at all, even mid feedings while chomping down on smelt, if she bumps into a living fish she moves around them. I was very leary at first, was told she had been raised with fish fro a small size when i got her, so i risked it and got lucky.
I watch closley, but have never seen her nip anyone, she'll kick the endlies try to bully them out of a cave to hide, they've bitten her feet a few times in retaliation, but nothing worse then the bichirs do to eachother. She just seems to get along just like one of the gang, always sleeping with a pile of bichirs.
The bigger ornate actually seem to have learnt that the turtle smells food faster/better then her,so when the FRT takes off the ornate is never far behind watching to see what she sniffing out then tries to steal it from her, it's to the point where the ornate eats veggies and fruit at times just because it sees the turtle doing it and greedily swallows the food lol
As for the lap's thanks for the concern. I agree they do look tiny next to the big guys but they are ~10", should be big enough to not get eaten.
I'll admit i was worried at first, always am when i introduce anything new to that tank, but I've had no issues and seen plenty of opportunities where the the lap's have literally just been laying in the middle of a pile of chopped smelt and the endlies/FRT eat around them. Actually the bichirs big and small seem quite content piled together they dont seem to see other bichirs as prey.
