My new White and Yellow Midas is seemingly pretty shy. I'm just curious as to wonder if anyone else has come across a Midas that took more than a day or two to become adventurous to say the least?

No the tank is divided right now, I'm keeping the bigger Female Trimac away until he puts on some size. But essentially it's him and a pleco in his half. He can swim, but he chooses to just chill, low, in a safe secure spot. Little concerning but I'll give him time. Thanks, my fish guy said his supplier said these are F-1's. He had two in, and this one had the bigger hump developing.

Man he is nice!!!!, You should try to put some qiant danio on his side of the tank he will feel confident to come with other fish swimming around.

Very nice
give him some time& he'll come around

Thanks, he's already coming around more and investigating the female trimac across the divider. Still shy but he comes out more with the blue LEDs for sure . I just love the white and yellow coloration.

Nice looking amph. Don't be too surprised if the yellow turns to orange once he's been on a decent diet for a few weeks.

Color can also be diet related, hence my previous comment. I've seen this more than a few times, including with a midas that I owned. I actually mistook it for being xanthic, initially it was as yellow as a lemon. Crystal blue eyes is also a common trait with creamsicle midas. (orange/white)
Not trying to rain on your parade, just sayin ......
