I did think about getting into plants. Comming from reef keeping, it reminds me a lot of that. However that said, the main thing I want right now is ease of maintance and simplicity. For a tank as deep and large as mine, planting the tank would be difficult and a lot of extra work. Dosing it with Co2 would probably be manditory and just adds complexity. Thats one of the reasons I am getting out of reef keeping. I agree, it would look awsome but I am just not ready for that right now.Taboojen said:That is a nice tank.I would love to relax in front of something like that.
Have you thought of trying a planted tank? That would be awesome. - Although some big fish dont seem to get along with plants.

Thinking about this as well, especially since our local water is just about perfect for Africans. Very hard water here with very good pH. Lots of disolved co2 however so good aeriation is a must before water change.Booger said:Most larger CA cichlids just don't make good display specimens for a large tank, IMO. They get big, stupid, and boring haha. With that big of a tank and no desire for plants, why not go for Africans? You have access to an incredibly wide variety of fish and could easily create a complex mix of species.
Thanks! Its in my breakfast area and I wanted the kids to have something to look at when they are eating in the morning.Bomber166 said:thats a really neat idea, putting it in front of the bar like that.
