How much did you pay for yours? I payed 15 for mine and its a hopilas malabaricus about the same size maybe yours is too if they're close in price...

Looks like a malabaricus to me. I have one, looks just like mine but cuter and littler!!!

i got him at SA, labeled hoplias misiones, im not sure if thats the species name or the location he was collected, either way hes great he swims up nd begs for food whenever i comeby and isn't very shy which i really enjoy

Yes missioness is the location in Argentina. I would be interested in getting a clear underjaw pic that shows the number of pores along each side of the jaw. It will probably be either australis or brasiliensis.
