When he was in the air force, dad worked in fuel cells. After he got out, he worked as an auto mechanic for several years. Then he got a job doing structures work (body work) for Raytheon/Virtex/L3 Com (got bought out a few times and changed names). Then he applied as a general mechanic for Northrop. They hired him as electrician, trained him as an electrician and machinist, and now he's back to doing mostly structures.

I am an ex mainframe programmer who curently runs a auto repair shop.
I too am growing the wrong way, I lost 50+ lbs 5 years ago when I had a stoke.
After spending a year relearning to walk and write my name I gain most of it back.
My goal is to get under 200lbs before summer.
I also intend to get my new camera set up.
And redo my tanks to be prettier, instead of set up simply for breeding.
