His yellow color will convert to orange once he's fed a decent quality diet. His genetics will prove him to be a "creamsicle" morph, not yellow. Had this happen to me once, turned out the fish was being fed a low quality generic farm feed.

Yeah it sucks. But I have one more yellow midas at my gf house. But she likes him so he's staying over there
