New Yellow Perch!

Alright, well update time. I decided to cull out the school and used some as feeders for my big cats, but soon after I culled, I lost another one, so I am down to two perch now.

However they are doing awesome! Eatting feeders, and starting to think about eatting silver sides while watching my big channel cat eat them. So two left, there doing good, and I got some updated pics now that I have substrate and cover in the tank. (its really fun when they come out of the weeds when im standing by the tank to check me out)

Well, Im excited for you too. These are really kewl lookin fish, and id like to own one, a small one, do you have any idea how quickly they grow, and to what final size. It would be nice to have one of these small enough that it wouldnt outgrow a 75 gal tank to quickly. Thanks for posting the pics

I got mine this size... about 9-10" They can get to 16" if they live long enough in good conditions and large tanks. I would expect growth rate to not be too fast, maybe .25 or .5 inches a month in the beginning and slowing down around 5-7"... but I havn't gotten to start them small yet, someone else would probably be able to answer that more correctly than me.

they are great fish though, really cool personalities. Mine like to play hide and seek with me in their plants.
