Doesn't look like the usual colour variant that you find on Yellow Spotted Rays. It may just be the juvenile patterns. Either way great looking ray.
nice ray man. my favorite sw sp...brings back memories...13th birthday, mexico...placin my had on top of one...hospital. haha i still have the scar. cool story. good thing it wasnt a big one. probably the size of yours. watched the barb go into me. pretty wierd to watch. didnt hurt but i felt it push against my skin and then poke through 
<--my reaction. anyways, only the tip of the barb got in so i wasnt totally harpooned. just a lot of blood (nicked a vein in my wrist...could have been worse), a lot of pain (throbbing, stinging, burning), and swelling to the point i couldnt move my fingers minus pinky and thumb.
