new yellow stingray

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He's got big claspers for his size. You should get a female.

what is the adult size for yellow rays? Diet? Very nice pickup. Did you get it locally or have it shipped? Good luck with him/her!

Yellow Stingrays can reach up to 26" total length, with a disc width of 14". But the generally mature at a disc width of about 6"

As for diet - basically fresh seafood - shrimp, crab, sw fish, & Squid will do fine.

bought a california ray for that reason. from what i saw, thought it was a female, but is a small ray. Now i see that it is a male. If it ever comes up, i would love to get a female for him. How big of a tank would you reccomend for him for life? I am upgrading very soon

What size tank do you have now? If you upgrade, a 6'x3' would probably work.

A 6'x3' for a yellow Stingray for life? Don't think so. Too small -IMO.

A good tank for a Yellow Stingray for life - at least a 360 gallon (8'L X 3'W x 2'T), although a 480 gallon (8'L x 4'W x 'T) would be much better.
