If you stay on top of it it’s not as bad as everyone says, but if you think maintaining stable parameters is important in freshwater, it’s twice as big for marine tanks. Fluval evo 13.5 is a good starter tank (may need some filtration upgrades as time goes on). I would recommend going without corals if you want something easy. They are the real PITA for marine. 13.5 I would get a pair of clownfish and a small shrimpgoby+Pistol shrimp and they will be happy. Do not buy saltwater from petco. I did and wound up with just about every disease in the book. Quarantining and Medicating fish is also very important (ask me how I know). As your tank progresses over a few months you can add some low maintenance soft corals.im completely new to saltwater aquariums are they tricky?
anyone know the best way to start?
As a quarantine or full tank? The tank I mentioned is only 13.5 gallons and it is enough. 20 is even better, though I’m not sure if there is a set that comes with everything. The fluval evo is a starter kit with lights and filter. All you need is a heater.very interesting, would 20 gallons be enough?
