Hello, I'm new here and I noticed It seems like you guys know alot about arowanas so I had A few quistions If you don't mind, does anyone know if I can Put A 4'' ghost knife with my 4 1/2 '' arowana and is it normal that my arowana won't leave the top of the water ? thanks:)

What kind of aro are we talking about?

It is common for aros to hang out at the top...no worries there.

imo, it shud be ok! my only concern is the tank size for now.
and yes it is very normal for the aro to just swims or stay on the top.
thats y they are called "top-dweller fishes"
u can say a fish is happy, if its swimming, eating and ****ting! ;)
best of luck to ur fishes!

Agreed...aros should always be looking for food.

It will get to the point where when you walk in the room they will get excited...sometimes to the point where you have to wrap your center braces on the tank because they'll slam into them to eat.

Wrap them in what?
my Jardini is starting to jump up for food and I dont want it to hurt itself...

I think I used the wrong term with "wrap"...more like coat. :nilly:

I used GE Silicone. It's just enough to take that sharp edge off of the brace and it's safe for aquariums...just make sure it's 100% natural silicone without any additives.

Just another thought too...I've noticed it helps with the lids slamming shut too. I've had to replace a couple of hoods, and now that I'm using silicone, I can create a little lip so the glass lands on silicone instead of landing flat on hard plastic.
